Your Local Host: Onca Explorations

Full Day Birdwatching Getting to Know Locals Hiking

Get the opportunity to see the elusive Tufted Jay or other bird species native to the Sierra Madre Mountains in this private birdwatching tour. The Sierra Madre Mountains are located near the borders of Durango and Sinaloa and the forest's ecosystem makes it a year round home the Tufted Jay or "Chara Pinta". You will be led through the trails and canyons of the preserve by an experienced local guide, "Don Santos". In addition to helping you find any birds you are interested in, Don Santos and his family will welcome you to his home, where you can enjoy a homemade traditional meal.
