De la Gente
Nonprofit started in 2014
Foreign Owned with 20% local staff
Day Trips
Activities: Class/Workshop, Coffee Farm, Cultural Activities
De la Gente works with coffee farming communities to create economic opportunity that improves the quality of life of their families and communities. You can meet farmers and artisans and work alongside them in their homes, as you create your own souvenir, not to mention memories to last a lifetime. Take a tour led by a smallholder coffee farmer to see where your coffee comes from, learn to make pepian (the national dish of Guatemala) in the home of a local 'chef' or try your hand in making a number of other artisan goods.

Community
De la Gente has its own brand of coffee that creates direct connections with buyers and consumers and is a source of improved income for the small-holder farmers they work with. They also help cooperatives build their capacity so that they can be autonomous, democratic and profitable organizations that provide income for their members. Through training and financing, they provide access to the knowledge and resources they need for success.
