Experience indigenous Quechua culture in the high mountain community of Patacancha. This 3 day excursion will fully immerse you into the authentic life of Quechua living as you learn to weave beautiful Peruvian garmets, hike to glacial lakes, and participate in village activities.

Your stay will also directly support the non-profit organization Awamaki in its mission to empower local Andean women to improve the lives of their families and communities.

Food is basic but wholesome Andean fare consisting mainly of thick potato, grain and vegetable soups, chicken, eggs, and plenty of potatoes cooked every way. You will also be provided with a large basket of fruits and vegetables to share with your homestay family during your stay.

You will meet your experience guide at a cafe in the heart of Ollantaytambo. From there you will ride one hour by car up the valley and in to the mountains of Patacancha.
