To the north of Salta, you find the entry to the Humahuaca's Gorge and its colorful mountains, recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Here, you'll visit to Purmamarca, a village located at the foot of Seven Colors Mountain. This is the location of the archaeological site known as “Pucara of Tilcara”, an ancient fortress built over 900 years ago by the natives from the area and the historical village of Humahuaca.
After lunch, the trip continues with a nice hike to Ocumazo inside of the Hidden Valley, where you're going to spend the following nights.
Dedicated to the conservation of the Andean seeds, the community organizes an exhibition between small producers once a year where in the “barter” (exchange system) is still used.

One of the hidden treasures of the region is certainly the colorful Hornocal mountain and its stunning beauty. In order to have the best’s views of the Hornocal, you need to reach the summit of the Santa Ana Hill. This will take the full day to do it, and return to the village after.
There are three possibilities to reach the summit: hike, horseback riding, or driving using another path. Your day will conclude with a homemade meal at your homestay.
