**Day 1**: Lunch at Rancho Guayacán, at the entrance of the Karen Mogensen Reserve, after a delicious lunch you will visit the Velo de Novia Waterfall where you will have the opportunity to swim in the natural pools, then continue the hike to Cerro Escondido below the forest, climbing 1300 steps.

Spend the night in the Cerro Escondido community lodge.

**Day 2**: In the morning we will take a walk to watch the sunrise in the Observation Tower. Back in the lodge to enjoy a delicious breakfast before your bird watching hike in the forest. Say good bye to the beautiful mountains during the walk-out of Cerro Escondido.

To enter the Reserve, you must first pass by the office of ASEPALECO (the local association) in Jicaral. It is important that you arrive at the office before 3:00 p.m. in order to get to the lodge before dark. Then, to reach the Cerro Escondido community and lodge you will do a 1 hour hike. Your luggage can be transported by horseback for an extra charge. Private taxi or van transportation to the hike start point is also available for an extra charge.
