The first day we will arrive in Coscomatepec to check into our hotel (we recommend arriving before 2 pm). In the afternoon we will explore this lovely Magical Village (what is a Magical Village?? See below*) where you will see the authentic slow-paced life of a mountain village in Mexico.

We will do a walking tour through the streets of the historical center of Cosco (that is how it is known by the people of Veracruz) to discover a small wool craft workshop, a bakery that bakes bread in a traditional wood-burning stove, and the interesting community museum.

Rest of the evening off. We recommend you go to bed early, as you will have an early start tomorrow!!

*Magical Village. What is it? It is an initiative led by Mexico's Secretariat of Tourism (SECTUR), in conjunction with other federal and state agencies, to promote a series of towns around the country that offer visitors a "magical" experience – by reason of their natural beauty, cultural riches, or historical relevance. The Mexico Tourism Board acknowledges that Mexico's magical element, are not only its sun and beaches, is what keeps many tourists coming back. Thus, they created the 'Pueblos Mágicos' program to recognize places across the country that imbue certain characteristics that make them unique and historically significant. A "Magical Village" is a place with symbolism, legends, history, important events, day-to-day life – in other words, "magic" in its social and cultural manifestations, with great opportunities for tourism.

The following morning, we will leave very early (7am or earlier), as Citlaltépetl will be waiting for us (from Nahuatl "citlal(in)" = star, and "tepētl" = mountain) or Pico de Orizaba, to free ourselves from our day-to-day worries, and merge with nature.

We will trek as far as we want to, as this is an excursion for all levels. We will appreciate the landscape, so have your cameras and hearts ready to reload your energy with the majestic natural environment before you.

At approximately 2pm, we will start our way downhill towards the lovely village of Coscomatepec.

The following day and after breakfast, without any rush, you will go back home or to your following destination. Hotel check out at 12 pm.
