Rappelling in the Sinkhole of Parrots

Adventure into the jungle to rappel into the Sinkhole of Parrots (Sima de las Cotorras) - a unique natural wonder located in El Ocote Biosphere Reserve of western Chiapas. The massive sinkhole has a diameter of 590,555 feet and a depth of 4,101 feet. To reach the sinkhole, you'll hike through a beautiful canyon that is more than 120 meters deep and rappel down one of its caves where you will observe ancient cave paintings. During the summer, parrots migrate to this area and make it their home, giving you the chance to be surrounded by hundreds of colorful birds as they fly out and around the area.
