A Unique Story

Born and raised in San Juan La Laguna right on Lake Atitlan, Luis Benjamin Cholotio always had a passion for the beauty of his hometown. After learning English through a Peace Corp Volunteer staying in his village, Luis decided he wanted to make a living by sharing Lake Atitlan with travelers from all over the globe.
Luis attended a tourism school in Guatemala City to obtain his license as a National Tour Guide so he could start what has now become Adventure Atitlan Tours. With nearly 10 years of guide experience under their belt, Luis and Adventure Atitlan are the experts for community tourism in Lake Atitlan.

Community Connection

Luis grew up going to school in San Juan La Laguna and getting involved with his local schools was always a priority of his. Adventure Atitlan now organizes and leads middle school students in community service trips around Lake Atitlan, ensuring the area is looked after with care and attention.
