A Unique Story

El Balcon in Cusco is a charming, renovated pre-colonial house from 1630. It's new owners have made an effort to preserve this history and connect their hotel with the community. They aim to create unique and meaningful travel experiences using local resources, and support them with a deeply instilled commitment to the social and environmental beauty of Cusco.

Community Connection

In Peru, today's children face increasing challenges as environmental, social and economic conditions are constantly altered. On their sister hotel's farm, El Albergue, they opened an alternative education program called Kuska School to teach children the skills, values and knowledge necessary to be successful individuals, while positively contributing to society.
They are also committed to hiring local employees and contracting services, such as guides and adventure activities with local organizations.

Environmental Engagement

El Balcon contributes to reforestation projects in the Cusco region through donations as well as staff volunteer projects. They are also in the process of applying for a carbon neutral certification, as well as TourCert, which is a social and environmental responsibility program.
