Why Lokal Recommends Red Rocks Rwanda

Social Enterprise started in 2011| Locally Owned with 100% local staff

Community Connection

Red Rock's Acts of Hope program works with four local womens' cooperatives to provide handicraft training and support for sustainable income generation. The women receive weekly English lessons, and Red Rocks provides a space for the sale of their handicrafts through their Community Shop where 100% of proceeds go to the cooperatives. The cultural activities you participate in at Red Rocks--banana beer making, basket weaving, and local home stays-- are organized with the cooperatives, and 80% of the cost of those activities go to the cooperatives. All of the staff and guides are locals.

Environmental Engagement

Red Rock's helps bring awareness to environmental issues by hosting monthly community debates that bring together national park rangers & conservationists.
