Caribbean Rainforests, Volcanoes & the Pacific Coast
Experience four of Costa Rica's most exciting destinations: Tortuguero, Arenal Volcano, The Monteverde Cloud Forest, and Manuel Antonio. Several nights in each location will allow you to explore the local culture and soak up the amazing natural wonders of Costa Rica.
You’ll start the trip by going to Tortuguero National Park in Northeast Costa Rica, which is recognized internationally for protecting the most important green turtle nesting beach in the Western Hemisphere. Made up of an extensive network of rivers and canals, access is possible only through small boats. A place unlike any other; where the small communities surrounding the park still preserve their traditions, you’ll experience a true encounter with Caribbean culture.
Next you will head to La Fortuna, a tiny town located near the foot of Arenal volcano. The perfect place to kick back and enjoy the area’s superb beauty, La Fortuna still retains much of its original Tico charm. From La Fortuna you will explore the surrounding areas of the volcano, soak in thermal waters, and visit a nearby community where you will participate in local life for a day.
From the Arenal volcano you will continue to mystical Monteverde. It is home to one of the rarest habitats on Earth, the cloud forest. The Cloud Forest of the area is unique to other rainforests in Costa Rica, with a constant mist and hence its name. The high humidity at this point, 1,600 meters above sea level creates fog and provides a dense cloud cover over the area. Hiking, zip lining, and unique Costa Rican culture all await.
Your final nights will be spent at one of the smallest and most popular national parks in Costa Rica. Visitors to Manuel Antonio can enjoy a relaxing day on one out of four pristine beaches or take a hike through the vibrant, green rainforest. From tide pools alive with crustaceans to endangered monkey species to stunning scenic vistas, Manuel Antonio National Park is a spectacular destination to relax and spot wildlife.
