Let’s go to Mexico!
Tailor-Made Adventures Designed to Make a Positive Impact.

When to visit

The weather in Mexico is generally stormy from September to mid-October. December to April are the driest months across most of the country, though you can expect higher prices. November is a great month to visit Mexico, with the rains over and the peak season not having yet begun.

What you will be doing

Swim with whale sharks, explore Mayan caves, connect with nature and local communities in the South of Veracruz, and hike to the villages of Pueblos Mancomunados in the Oaxacan mountains. Appreciate art, music and ancient culture. Be whisked away by all the richness and delicious food this country has to offer.

Travel Style

From sophisticated capital cities to small towns and villages, Mexico has something for everyone. It’s easy to go to a resort in Mexico, but we recommend exploring beyond that, to places less discovered where you’ll have an incredible experience connecting with local culture and nature. Stay at a diverse set of lodging options, from luxury ecoldoges to community lodges, the choice is yours!

Best Ways to Get Around

If you are visiting only one region only you can rent a car, or take buses from one city to another. ADO is a reliable bus company and has different classes depending on what you are comfortable with. To visit several regions in Mexico there are domestic airlines that offer very comprehensive service. Aeromexico, Volaris, and Interjet are the biggest ones.

You'll work with a Lokal in-country travel expert

In order to provide a consistently local experience we make sure our Lokal trip planners are always from the country you’ll be visiting. This not only means you’ll be getting an authentic local experience but you know first hand that your money is going directly to the communities you visit. How’s that for a win/win?

Our Story

What if you could take the most incredible trip of your life while leaving a positive impact on the people and places you visit? This was the idea we had when exploring local communities in Costa Rica producing our documentary film. We've been working ever since to connect amazing travel experiences, local communities, and conscious travelers like you!

Watch our award-winning documentary film that inspired our company Lokal. The tropical rainforest of Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula contains 2.5% of the world’s biodiversity on less than one millionth of the planet’s surface. Its incredible natural beauty has caught the eye of the tourism industry and the planned construction of an international airport threatens to transform the region forever.
