Itinerary
Arrive night 1 and settle into your Queen EcoCasita with sliding walls that open up to a 180 degree view of your private and pristine ocean front. Meet at the bar for our house special Organic Basil Margarita and settle in for a communal meal made with many ingredients sourced on organic farm on-site.
Time to detox and settle in to the slower pace. Get up early and go release baby turtles first thing, followed by Yoga and an amazing Mexican Healthy breakfast. Follow the self guided Discovery Trail to explore 200 acres of Playa Viva from beach to estuary to archeological site and farm. Come back Common Area for a delicious lunch and pick a hammock to rest, read and rejuvenate. If you are up to it, ask Johnny, head of activities to teach you to shore fish with line or, for a bigger challenge, the net. Take an afternoon swim or grab a boogie board and ride the waves. Shower up for a wonderful communal meal and make it an early night to prepare for the next day's adventure.
Early morning rise and shine, hop on a 4x4 ATV and head up the mountains to visit with the Gutierrez family on their farm. This trip includes a tour of the cacao, coffee and many varieties you've probably never experienced including your hosts homemade blackberry wine. A surprise awaits you on your way back. When you finally get back to Playa Viva, you will be ready for a swim to get the dust out of every crevice. Settle in for a relaxing rest of your day.
Get a taste of local culutre on a tour of the nearby town of Juluchuca, including the artisanal coconut candy factories and visit with local salt farmers. You'll also visit Petatlan to see the local market and enjoy paletas (fresh fruit popsicles) and other local treats. Come back to Playa Viva for a cooking class to learn how to make mole or other Mexican specialty. Enjoy the fruits of your labor and then relax and enjoy your last day in paradise.
