So glad I did it!

This was such an amazing exploration! Santiago was an amazing guide. He took the time to explain the structures on the way with knowledge and patience. He went above and beyond to show as many animals as we could.. The knowledge in local birds he has was extrenely great. He made sure we didn't miss anything, not even the puma! I highly recommend this trip and Santiago!

Amazing hike, highly recommend

Booked this hike during the end of rainy season (Sept22nd -26th) and had no issues. The trails were a little muddy and it rained most nights but we had good luck most days, almost never getting rained on while hiking. Was surprised by the nice facilities at the first camp, very comfortable and easy to keep everything clean, even a washing station and flush toilets. The second camp is a bit rougher but very manageable. The site itself is like something out of a fantasy novel, spectacular in every way. I really feel fortunate to have been able to see these amazing ruins before they are fully restored and crowds of tourists flock there. Our guide got us in and out safely, helped us keep a good pace, and pointed out a number of species of plants and animals along the route. He also explained to us in detail about the ruins and specific details of each site. My Spanish wasn't quite good enough to catch everything but luckily we had a Chilean in the group who translated much for us. The only issue we had was the transport breaking down on the way back to Flores but an alternate vehicle was arranged in under 2 hours. To end on a high note, the food was quite good, simple but really perfect for the experience. All-in-all, great value for a one-of-a-kind experience!
