Visit Espíritu Santo Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to turquoise water, multitudes of fish species, and resident sea lions. Less than one hour from La Paz, this natural paradise will amaze you with breathtaking island scenery and rich marine life. Jump in the water to snorkel with the sea lions and observe tropical fish.
After a tasty lunch, our world-class nature guides will interpret the natural and cultural history of this unique place, and lead you through some of the astounding nature trails that take you into the heart of the island.
You will meet at RED’s office early in the morning and transport to the marina. After boarding the boat, guides will give you a small briefing about trip inside the Natural Protected Area as we head out into the Bay of La Paz. After roughly 1.5 hours, you arrive at the sea lion colony for our first stop. You will have plenty of time to swim, snorkel and interact with the playful sea lions in the company of your guide as well as observe tropical fish and other wildlife. Beginner snorkelers are welcome, but must be able to swim.
Climb back on board the boat in search of a pristine beach where we will take in a scrumptious meal (please advise of special needs and dietary restrictions). On the beach, guides will lead an interactive chat about the natural history of the island, plants and mangroves. Test their knowledge! Relax, swim or take in a hike before happy hour, where you will all share your most memorable moments before starting the trip back to La Paz, arriving around 5 p.m.
