Explore the biodiversity of Amazon Rainforest and traditions of local indigenous communities through the incredible Napo Wildlife Center. Boat down the river to arrive at the unique lodge where you'll stay in traditionally-styled bungalows built by the Kichwa Añangu community. Experience an incredible adventure paddling a small canoe or hiking on the forest trails alongside local guides. You'll get a close up view of the Amazon wildlife in the Yasuní National Park, a sacred land considered one of the most diverse areas in the planet.
When you arrive at Coca airport, Napo Wildlife Center's staff will be waiting for you to take you to the Francisco de Orellana Port which is 5 minutes away from the airport.
Once you arrive at the port, you will get on a motorized canoe and go downstream the Napo River. During the canoe ride, a boxed lunch will be provided for you to eat.
After a two hour ride along the Napo River, you will arrive at the Napo Wildlife Center's dock entrance where you can take a short break to freshen up and use the restroom. Next, you will continue your way to the lodge on paddle canoes since motorized canoes are not allowed within Napo territory. You will ride through a narrow stream until you arrive at Añangu Lake, where the hotel is located. Once you arrive at the Napo Wildlife Center Ecolodge, their staff will welcome you with drinks and show you your rooms and other areas of the lodge.
You will start early in the morning and arrive at the parrot clay lick at about 7:30 or 8:30AM. You will then hike along the forest trail to visit the Kichwa Añangu community to spend time with local people. You will have the opportunity to learn about their daily activities, routines, and their ancestral customs and traditions.
After saying goodbye to the families, you will be taken back to the creek and go on a 30 minute hike through Terra Firme forest. You will then arrive at the second parrot clay lick and watch the variety of birds as you eat the lunch the staff provides for you. Lastly, you will return to the lodge where you can enjoy the lodge's social areas and comfortable luxury rooms.
After eating the delicious breakfast served at the lodge's restaurant, you will depart to the Canopy Observation Tower. The tower is about 30 minutes from the lodge within Terra Forme forest.
After eating lunch back in the Napo Wildlife Center's restaurant, you will go trekking into Terra Firme where you will be able to view the diverse wildlife found in the forest.
You will then be taken to explore Añangu Lake and the streams that are the home of different fishes and the Giant Otter, which is unique to the Amazon Rainforest.
