A Unique Story

Royal Mountain Travel (RMT) is a Nepalese tour operator, based in the capital city of Kathmandu. Since 2005, RMT has been working as a transmitter between the world and the rural communities of Nepal offering varieties of community-based tours and trekking in Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan. From the beginning, they have been focusing on the morals of Ecotourism and towards the authentic experience of the host destinations by making sure their guests receive the warm hospitality of the culture and tradition of the countries.

Deep Community Connections

They are supporting the communities of Nepal by designing and operating tours and treks to remote destinations and accommodating travelers in community Homestays. Before introducing communities to the tourism industry, it is their principle to provide the local population with proper guidelines; protection of the environment, the participation of women, values education, tradition, culture, and the importance of sanitation.

Active Environmental Stewardship

In the case of lack of energy in certain communities, they discourage local people to cut trees or use fuels as their source of energy – rather they try their best to supply them with an alternate and sustainable form of energy; usually solar.
