Arrival in Cancun and car rental pick up or transfer (depending on the option chosen) to our cosy hotel located on Tulum’s seaside.
Rest of the day free to rest and enjoy the beach.

After breakfast, we will go to the Mayan community of Muyil, in Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, to visit an archaeological site hidden in the jungle and follow an interpretative path.
Later, we will jump on a small boat to start our journey through two amazing lagoons. We will reach a dock, and with our life vests on, we will jump in the canal to float along the incredible crystal clear water with the help of slow currents.
We will have lunch and head back to Tulum. If you have time, we suggest you visit the archaeological site of Tulum, with the magnificent Caribbean Sea in the background, and spend some time in Playa Paraiso or Playa Pescadores, two of the most beautiful beaches in Tulum.

After breakfast, we will go to the Mayan community of Señor where we will meet the charming Mayan grandfathers, who will teach us how to extract thread from the henequen, and will tell us interesting stories about the Caste War that the Maya suffered at the beginning of last century.
We will have lunch and later, we will move to the community of Tihosuco, where we will start with a Mayan ceremony that invokes the four compass points, as a sign of thanks for our visit. We will tour the local museum of Caste and the interesting church of colonial architecture, part of it destroyed during the Caste War.
We will head to our next stop in Chunhuhub. We will have dinner with this charming community and rest for the day.

The chewing gum season coincides with the rainy season, so if the climate allows it, today we will get up very early in the morning, have a little snack and go into the jungle to see the interesting process of extracting the resin from the trees, which is used to make chewing gum. We will learn about medicinal plants and the interesting flora and fauna around. When we are back from our trek, we will have our breakfast at the cooperative.
After breakfast, visit the premises and learn about the melipona bees, how they are looked after, and their honey production. We will learn about the community’s organic garden. We will see how the pressing of the sugar cane is done, and make our best effort to do it ourselves! Not easy!
We will help our hosts to cook our lunch, learning to make the traditional hand-made tortillas and later have a delicious regional lunch.
We will head back to Tulum.
