Checacupe, Peru

Overnight with Chari Weavers and Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain Hike

A unique way to explore Peru's famous Rainbow Mountain! Instead of joining the line of tourist buses, you'll spend your first day visiting the Chari community to learn traditional weaving and experience the culture of an Andean community firsthand. Then, you'll spend the night with a local family in a comfortable private room. The next day you'll go on an alternative hike to Palcoyo - a less-visted (but equally spectacular) part of the Rainbow Mountains. In addition to the spectacular views of the colorful terrain, you'll also get beautiful vistas of Apu Ausangate and other peaks. After a good workout on the trails, you'll stop back in the Chari community for another home-cooked meal before making the drive back to Cusco.
