Our team will pick you up from your hotel in Oaxaca and take you on a 2-hour journey to Llano Grande, where you'll begin a trek along the "Cueva Iglesia" route. The trail takes you through the San Miguel del Valle region, offering natural vantage points and mystical views that will leave you spellbound. After a full day of trekking, retreat to cozy cabins in Cuajimoloyas, where all your meals are included.
The next day, our tour includes a hike to Coyote Canyon, where you'll witness awe-inspiring caves and stunning mountain landscapes. Don't miss the opportunity to visit the suspension bridge of Cuajimoloyas, where you can experience an adrenaline rush or simply take in the view. With our knowledgeable guides leading the way, you'll create memories that will last a lifetime.
The journey begins by departing the city of Oaxaca, where our team will pick you up you from your hotel. Our expedition will take us to the Sierra North, traversing the valley of Tlacolula and ultimately arriving at Llano Grande, a journey that should take approximately 2 hours.
Once we reach Llano Grande, we will embark on a trek along the "Cueva Iglesia" route, which ventures into the San Miguel del Valle region. This path offers awe-inspiring views and natural vantage points steeped in mystique, making this excursion an unparalleled experience that will bring you closer to nature. Our hike will culminate in the town of Cuajimoloyas, covering a distance of 14km with an estimated walking time of 5 to 6 hours.
When we arrive at Cuajimoloyas, we will head to one of the local eateries for lunch before checking into our cabins. You will have free time to relax and enjoy the stunning view until dinner. Alternatively, you may choose to visit the hanging bridge of Cuajimoloyas.
The tour package includes lunch, dinner, and snacks, and you will be lodged in the cozy cabins of Cuajimoloyas. So, prepare to unwind in your cabin and bask in the beauty of your surroundings.
As the first rays of sunlight emerge, we greet a new day and begin packing our belongings to depart our lodging. We will gather in the dining room for a customary breakfast before commencing our day's activity - a 5k hike to the Coyote Canyon. Our route will take us through the characteristic pine-oak forests of the area, culminating in a visit to the "Ojito de Agua" where water emerges from between the crevices of a towering rock formation. Continuing along the trail, we will eventually arrive at the Canyon, where you can marvel at the impressive caves and take in the stunning mountain landscape (Estimated walking time: 3 hours).
After the hike, we will savor a delicious meal to replenish our energy. Before returning to Oaxaca City, we will also visit the suspension bridge of Cuajimoloyas, and you will have free time to experience the thrill of the 1 kilometer Cuajimoloyas Zipline (additional cost). With this, we conclude our day and begin our journey back to Oaxaca City.
