Nice day, not spectacular

We were served breakfast and lunch along with several hours in a 6 person boat in the shallow lakes and canals of Sian Kaan reserve. The canal float was fun. The English speaking guide was in another boat, so we didn't get the full advantage of the guide. We saw fewer birds than hoped, and didn't see manatees. Nice day but not spectacular.

Book it!

If you're debating whether to do this tour or not, take this as a sign to go ahead and book it. We had a an amazing time with Community Tours Sian Ka'an and our tour guide, Memo. We were picked up promptly at our hotel and we learned so much about the Sian Ka'an reserve. Floating around the canal was a beautiful and carefree experience that I would recommend to all. We also had a delicious meal at the community center. Come prepared with a rashguard/surf shirt and a hat since you can't wear sunscreen. You won't regret this experience!
