Why Lokal Recommends Kukul Tales

Background

Social Enterprise started in 2018| Locally Owned with 100% local staff

Deep Community Connections

Kukul Tales empowers and teaches communities the essential "tourism skills" to become their culinary hosts, and be capable to give food experiences with high quality standards. Also, they strive to use local ingredients and utensils to develop their local economy and make their tours sustainable.

Active Environmental Stewardship

To reduce their impact on pollution, their food tours and activities require the use of green/reusable materials: leaves, recycled paper or wood, mayan utensils etc. They do this to collaborate with local communities in their efforts towards sustainability.

Specific Traditions and Heritage Preserved

Kukul Tales takes pride in preserving their local gastronomic heritage. With 23 different ethnic groups, Kukul collaborates to design food experiences across Antigua. Every tour and workshop designed helps promote their own gastronomic culture and cuisine. The work completed and in progress aims to help more families and communities preserve their culture and food traditions.
