Operating as a team of two, Marcos and Susu have been running Pasión Costa Rica since 2012.
The pair truly believes that an impactful experience in Monteverde will give you a better and more authentic experience of Costa Rica at large. By working tirelessly to ensure a perfectly customized trip for their visitors, Susu and Marcos can share the beauty of their home and promote a better understanding of Costa Rica.
When Susu and Marcos aren’t doing Pasión Costa Rica work, you’ll find them enjoying their two young daughters, teaching zumba, and playing soccer.

Pasión Costa Rica works closely with their local community to both preserve and protect its values. Living in the immediate community in which they lead their tours, the company has a direct and mutual relationship with the betterment of those living around them. By visiting family run farms to observe and preserve traditional farm life, Pasión Costa Rica promotes surrounding small business and works closely with them to grow the area toward a bright and sustainable future.
Active Environmental Stewardship
Pasión Costa Rica is a member of the Monteverde Conservation League, the largest private reserve in Costa Rica. Their mission is as a non-profit civil organization is to “preserve, conserve, and rehabilitate tropical ecosystems and their biodiversity". Pasión Costa Rica works alongside this organization to practice sustainable business practices and to educate visitors through their various Cloud Forest tours on the benefits of ecotourism and sustainability.
Pasión Costa Rica also works independently on a variety of reforestation projects on family cattle ranches throughout Monteverde.
