This women's wellness retreat was lovingly created to deepen your awareness of self love and empowerment while fostering a sense of play, growth, healing and adventure! Cultivating Self Love is a Self Mastery International retreat featuring transformational experiences designed to nourish the body, stimulate the mind and soothe the soul.
We have partnered with Sumak Travel to design a journey through some of Costa Rica's top destinations to experience a great mix of adventure, wildlife, nature, relaxation, education, healing and renewal. You will visit natural wonders and unique ecosystems in the magnificent Nicoya Peninsula, one of the five Blue Zones of the world (Blue Zones are places where people live more than 100 years on average, due to the combination of healthy lifestyle, nutrition, socialization and rich ecosystems).
After getting a glimpse of San José, we will fly to Montezuma, located in the south east of the Nicoya Peninsula, where we will stay at the beautiful Ylang Ylang Beach Resort. Then we will make a short journey from Montezuma to Manzanillo, on the opposite side of the Nicoya Peninsula, where we will stay at the lovely Kaya Bloom Ecolodge, a regenerative tourism initiative with spirituality and conservation at the heart of their mission.
This 8-day wellness retreat features yoga, meditation, transformational workshops and other healing activities to enlighten your soul. Come forge new connections with other likeminded women and create lifelong bonds that deepen over time!

Accommodation in double cabins at Kaya Bloom Ecolodge
After breakfast, you will go on a 2-hour dolphin and whale watching excursion in the Marine Protected Area of Cabo Blanco. Costa Rica is home to many species of marine mammals. The warm tropical waters provide a perfect nursery for humpback whales from both the northern and southern hemispheres. Humpback whales are seen in two well defined seasons from December to March and from July to October. Bottlenose and spotted dolphins frequently escort boats a few kilometers offshore.
Lunch will be served back to the lodge. Then, take part in two activities:
Workshop: The power of storytelling (2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.) We will explore the power of sharing our story of transformation and reframe all that has happened as fertilizer for our growth and evolution. We will allow the greatest, grandest versions of ourselves to come forth unimpeded by the past.
After some time for self reflection and journaling, dinner will be served at 7:00 p.m. at the ecolodge. Then enjoy another activity:
Workshop: The quantum self (8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.) Discussion of quantum physics and how we can influence the field by being in a state of love versus a state of fear. Followed by a guided meditation on allowing the greatest, grandest version of self to be now!
After breakfast, we will spend the morning at the CIRENAS conservation project in Manzanillo, where you will learn about their conservation efforts, hike their trails for a couple of hours and take part in some of their volunteering activities with sea turtles and/or permaculture. A traditional lunch will be served at CIRENAS' restaurant.
Back to the lodge, have some time to rest and then take part in the following activity:
Sacred Ceremony for Healing with Pachamama (5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.) We will do a very special indigenous ceremony that involves creating a "despacho" or offering to Mother Earth (aka Pachamama). Each of us will create a beautiful prayer bundle and have a fire ceremony where each will be healed and any residual heaviness will be released. We will discover the power of ceremony and ritual to heal trauma and deepen our connection to all that is.
After the ceremony, at 7:30 p.m., savor a Farewell Dinner.
After breakfast, we will have our Closing Ceremony: Owning your divinity (8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m)
We will deepen our commitment to self-care and self-soothing strategies as we return to our lives and experience a guided meditation on owning your divinity. Feel the energy of a circle of powerful women co-creating a greater version of a compassionate, loving world. We are the change we want to see in the world. We are the lighthouses who have sowed the seeds of Self LOVE and transformed our limiting beliefs to be the greatest, grandest version of Self. Then, get ready for a 10-minute transfer to Manzanillo airport to take a 45-minute charter flight to San José (estimated arrival time: 11:30 a.m.) for your afternoon or evening flight back home (make sure to book a flight after 3:00 p.m.). “I attended the Sacred Soul Journey retreat in Tulum, Mexico, in 2018 hosted by Dr. Peggy Farmer and Kelli Reese. This was a life changing event for me. What Peggy brought to the retreat was her whole self, including her clinical experience as well as her many other skills and abilities. Her expertise is holding a safe, sacred, loving space for those in her care to heal. It was with grace, tenderness, and compassion that she led our group of women in a journey to ourselves. She leads from a perspective of non judgement and unconditional love. The tools that she taught us during this retreat were transformational and I still use them to this day! I am so thankful for our interactions and teachings that she provided for us during the Sacred Soul Journey and I highly recommend her to any woman wanting to have a meaningful and conscious life.”
