You can join the Whale Shark Mexico team in the effort to learn more about and protect these magnificent creatures!

Flexible Departure Date
All year

You will be picked up at your hotel early in the morning, and transported to the water. After boarding the research vessel, the team will brief you on the research protocols and what to expect. Heading out from La Paz we will hug the coastline, searching for whale sharks and stopping periodically to investigate. Throughout the day you will learn about the various science and research projects including photo-identification, population analysis, satellite tagging and genetic analysis.

You’ll have the chance to snorkel (gear provided) in beautiful La Paz Bay and get up close and personal with whale sharks! We will also take time out for a lunch break. Beverages, snacks and lunch are all included.
